EACH EPISODE

Our original scripted content is based on characters from the song. Each episode is based on a different song.

Hit songs are still one of the last, best reservoirs of untapped intellectual property because they have a built-in audience just like a bestselling book, a graphic novel, a play, or a news article. They’re crafted around strong characters in conflict… set in vivid worlds… exploring universal themes. Our series reveals what happens to those unforgettable characters the next day… the next year… or 20 years down the road.
-
Are they fighting the same battles?
-
Are there new hills to conquer?
-
Did their lives exceed their wildest fantasies?
-
Has true love double-crossed them again?
-
Have they become everything they once hated?
These stories are intimate snapshots of how these characters’ lives turned out. We’re taking a piece of celebrated intellectual property and building on it, with deference to the original material. We’re not re-imagining the mythology of the song. We’re building upon it. We’re creating a coda.
In our series, we mine each character’s evolution or devolution for heartbreaking human drama or hysterical comedy. They’re forced into impossible choices. Face their worst fears. And evolve or suffer the consequences. But each episode’s heartbeat is always a nuanced dive into the emotional core of these characters – as they’re being empowered or tortured by the same themes as in the original songs.
FORMAT

The storyline of one episode flows into the next episode, so each season has its own story arc. Each episode is a self-contained story. This format gives us the ability to attract high-profile actors – who typically aren’t available for an entire season.
Each episode is approximately 60 minutes long. Season One will be comprised of different story genres like romances, thrillers, comedies, and dramas and will feature iconic songs from the 1980s. Season Two, as well as subsequent seasons, will feature songs from a different decade.

These songs will cover a variety of music genres and will be handpicked from the BMG catalog of artists. In order to attract the largest possible audience, each song will be a recognizable hit featuring great characters. The caliber of these songs will attract elite producers, directors, and writers.
SENIOR MANAGEMENT

Veteran music supervisor Art Ford and senior executives at BMG are securing written quotes from artists, including the use of the song in the episode, using the song title as the name of the episode, and permission to base our story on the song.
